2/1/26 Sunday

(JOEL1:12)

The vine is dried up

    and the fig tree is withered;

the pomegranate, the palm and the apple[a] tree—

    all the trees of the field—are dried up.

Surely the people’s joy

    is withered away.

The Fruit languishes on the tree.

The sad reality today is that so many churches that were once on fire for God and fruitful are now languishing. And even dying on the vine. Just yesterday, as I drove around my area, I saw church after church with broken-down buildings and signs so old you could tell they haven't had anything going on in a while. Also, some are vacant, having no fruit at all. It's a sign of the times, when the flesh and the get into the mix, and there isn't the strength to cast it out. The churches fall apart when the pleasures of controlling the masses of people, and then the fruit languishes on the tree. Joel prophesied about our day, and he saw the trees as, in a day in which we need a strong church, strong Christians, and leaders, we have the opposite, weak-kneed Christians, leading to weak churches. When social media, TV, sports, and sin are more enticing in drawing than the Lord Jesus Christ, we have a serious problem

Seeing the need.

Acknowledging our failure can turn it around. (Revelation 3:15-18) 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

We need eye salve to heal our spiritual blindness, which church most resembles the church of our? In the Seven Churches of Asia Minor, Apostle John writes about, the church at Laodicea most resembles us today. When we hear what Jesus says about this church, it's like we're looking in a mirror ourselves. Lukewarm, cold, indifferent, apathetic. We have these problems in the Church today. We need to see how far we have drifted away from Christ and turn our ship around back on course. Until we acknowledge our need for revival, we will never experience it. Because quite simply, we pray for it or earnestly seek it. It's like the man who went to his best friend for medical advice come and his friend told him he was OK. Little did he know he had a timing tick in his heart, and he had a heart attack. Because he didn't go to his doctor for true advice. A lot of Christians are like this. I don't want to hear the truth; they just want to live in denial, bury their head under the sand, and hope everything gets better one day. But is your life right now on fire for God? Do you want Jesus Christ to stir your life and the lives of your family and friends and the world more than ever before? If the answer is then maybe it's time to wake up and cry out to God to revive first and foremost your own heart and life, as I have been doing myself.

NO STRENGTH LEFT TO DO ANYTHING FOR GOD!

Isaiah 37:3They told him, “This is what Hezekiah says: This day is a day of distress and rebuke and disgrace, as when children come to the moment of birth, and there is no strength to deliver them.

The children have come to birth, but there is no strength to bring them forth. Hezekiah This day is a day of distress and disgrace.

The moment of birth has come for children to be born into the kingdom. Spiritual children, but there is no strength or power from the Holy Spirit to bring them forth. To birth them into the kingdom. Why? Because the prayer rooms are empty, the rivers are dried up, and God's people are uninterested in the Lord God. They want to sin rather than to love God. This was the insult God has faced from his own children since Israel wandered in the desert. His own people conspired against him to go after idols and love the world, to sell out to the lust of the flesh, to be gratified by worldly things rather than love Christ.

This is why we need a revival more than we need more programs, bigger churches, better facilities, or any of these other things. Preachers and prophets who will step forward and speak, thus saith the Lord to the people. We don't need people up there who are self appointed psychologist trying to analyze Christians and coddle them in their sins. We need men of God who are led by the Holy Spirit who will call out sin and call the Church to a holy repentance. I have sat under the ministries of David Wilkerson, who was, in my opinion, a modern-day prophet who spoke these things better than I ever could. He died, I believe, never seeing the revival like he wanted to in his day. Leonard Ravenhill was another one that I sat under his ministry for years, and he was also prophesying to the church to get right with God And he had to back that up in action. It's time for the church not just talk about revival it's time for the church to do something to get real and get right with God in every way and and give everything for Christ so that we can see not only the church revived but a worldwide revival and see sinners flooding into the churches again to see fruit on the vine in the trees the luscious fruit of the Holy Spirit.
